Bio

Simona Klimbacher joined BSVA in 2016. She is the General Counsel of the Firm and takes care of internal legal affairs and compliance matters; she also cooperates with the Firm’s management in developing and implementing special projects.

Before joining BSVA, she spent almost 15 years as corporate and commercial lawyer with two major international law firms in Rome, New York and Milan.

Simona Klimbacher graduated at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome in 1997 and earned her LL.M. in Banking, Corporate & Finance at the Fordham University School of Law in New York in 2002; she also attended the executive course “Structural Issues in Law Firm Management” at Fordham University and is actively involved in the Law School’s Mentorship Program.

She collaborates with the Department of Judicial Science at the University of Milan as Didactic Coordinator of the post-graduate courses in Data Protection & Data Governance and Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Platforms as well as of the Course in Smart Cities, AI and Digital Transformation Law; she also teaches at other courses in Legal Informatics, with focus on legal issues connected with new technologies.

Member of the European Data Protection Board group of experts (“Technical expertise in new technologies and information security” e “Legal expertise in new technologies”).

Research fellow of “The Information Society Law Center” of the University of Milan.

Member of the “Comitato Studi Strutturati” and “Commissione Innovazione” at the Milan State Bar.

Member of the Executive Committee of the Adam Smith Society.

Member of the “Associazione Italiana Giuristi d’Impresa” (AIGI).

Admitted to the Milan Bar and the New York State Bar (USA).

Fluent in English, French and German.
